Our Programs

Shop with a Hero/Stuff a Truck

This program is designed to aid families of Holly Springs by providing gifts to children in need during the holiday season through partnership with the Holly Springs Police and community businesses. Financial donations are accepted throughout the year to fund a day of shopping with an officer. Donations of new toys are used to fill the department’s Humvee which the officers deliver to area children at Christmastime.

The Citizens' Police Academy

The Citizens’ Police Academy is designed to unite and strengthen our community and police force. The Academy is a series of six sessions focusing on various aspects of law enforcement and citizen cooperation, and creates a wonderful opportunity to peek inside the world of a police officer. Participants conduct hands-on problem solving simulations, crime scene processing and domestic violence and suspicious person scenarios. The Holly Springs Police Department Citizens’ Police Academy offers a unique opportunity to recommit ourselves to the interest and values that affect all of us as neighbors in The City of Holly Springs.

Community Oriented Partnerships

This program is designed to improve and assist in making the community of Holly Springs a safer place to live and work through partnerships between the citizens and the Holly Springs Police. This program will include education materials and other items that may provide assistance to the citizens of Holly Springs to improve their quality of life. The photo to the left shows Officer Sheehan using a laser thermal reader device donated to the Police Department by Home Depot. The laser thermal reader will now assist officers on the scene in understanding how high the vehicle’s temperature is and determine the appropriate action to take.

Emergency Assistance Program

This program is designed to provide aid to Police Officers who have been injured in the line of duty. This program can provide monetary funds or other assistance based on the needs of the injured public safety officer and family members.

Equipment and Education

This program is designed to support the purchase and use of special equipment, training, and education for the Holly Springs Police Department.  In 2018 FoHS provided necessary bicycle equipment for the Bike Patrol bicycles.

Naloxone Opioid Overdose Prevention

In recent years, the use of prescription pain medications, especially when combined with alcohol or street drugs, have contributed significantly to the increase in accidental deaths.  This project was designed to adopt our commitment to reducing opioid overdoses in the Holly Springs community and to improve the health of our residents who are affected by addiction.  This project equips all Holly Springs Police patrol vehicles with intranasal spray containing Naloxone, a medication that reverses an overdose caused by an opioid prescriptions such as Percocet and OxyContin and street drugs such as heroin.  The Holly Springs Police Department is the first in Georgia to carry such lifesaving devices after the passage of laws allowing them to do such.
